Norwish National Rail (NSB) is the rail company that serves Norway. It aims to enhance and preserve the benefits for passengers of Sweden's national rail network. All trains are totally non-smoking and most of them will offer meals on board (purchased apart and at the train only), it can be served by trolley service or counter buffet.

What about NSB

the Norwegian State Railways, is a government-owned railway company which operates most passenger train services in Norway. Owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications, it is also engaged in real estate through Rom Eiendom, bus transport through Nettbuss, cargo trains through CargoNet and Swedish train transport through Tågkompaniet. NSB transported 52 million train passengers and 104 million bus passengers in 2009.

The current company was established on 1 December 1996, when the former Norwegian State Railways (1883–1996) was split into the new NSB, the infrastructure company the Norwegian National Rail Administration and the Norwegian Railway Inspectorate.

Ticketless - How use your etickets:

As soon as your booking have been processed, you will receive a booking confirmation, including a PNR number (reservation code) by email. Just show it to train's controller when requested.
It's all you need for you trip.
IMPORTANT:

1) In order to board your Scandinavian train, you will need a valid photo ID/Passport and your confirmation email details, like the PNR - reservation code.
2) Please double check the train's stations names, trip date/time.

Scandinavian Train Tickets - Fares Conditions:
All Scandinavian train tickets are ticketless (eticket - Print at Home) and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. The booking confirmation is sent by email. It Includes the seat reservations. * Keep in mind that when you fist place an order you receive an automatic response from our website, stating that we have received your order request. That is not a confirmation email. A confirmation email will have specifically say "Confirmation email" and will also list a PNR code.

a) Flexi (Base fares): Refundable and exchangeable (subject to availability and only at the station) before travel date. Refund and exchanges are subject to 15% penalty fee. The train ticket includes a seat reservations.
b) Promotional fares (Low Cost tickets): Non Refundable. Non Exchangeable.
c) Children Fare: Children fare are valid for people under 15 years old. Children under 6 years old travel free, but must share the seat with the paying adult.
e) All tickets are subject to confirmation after an order is placed. The tickets have a variable horizon for booking, normally 60 to 90 days within trip date. A booking confirmation will be sent as soon as the booking have been processed and confirmed.
f) All fares are per person in US Dollars, subject to to change before the booking confirmed.
g) E-tickets: A booking confirmation is sent by email with a specific code (PNR) You should print it or storage in a device and show it when required by train's controller.
h) Handling fee: all bookings are subject to US$ 8 handling fee

  • Oslo

    Oslo Central Station (Norwegian: Oslo sentralstasjon, abbreviated Oslo S) is the main railway station in Oslo, and the largest railway station within the entire Norwegian railway system. It is the terminus of Drammen Line, Gardermoen Line, Gjøvik Line, Hoved Line and Østfold Line. It serves express, regional and local rail services by four companies. The railway station is owned and operated by Norwegian National Rail Administration and was opened in 1980.

    Oslo Central was built on the site of the older Oslo East Station (Oslo Østbanestasjon, Oslo Ø), the combining of the former east and west stations being made possible by the opening of the Oslo Tunnel. Oslo Central has nineteen tracks, thirteen of which have connections through the Oslo Tunnel. The station has two buildings, the original Oslo East building and the newer main building for Oslo Central. Each building houses a large shopping centre. The square in front of the station is called Jernbanetorget.

    SJ, NSB and DBS - Rail information for disabled costumers
    SJ, NSB and DBS wants the train to be a practical means of transport for everyone.

    We will always do our best to help disabled passengers that need assistance, but if you need help when travelling by rail, it is best to check if it is possible to book any assistance in advance and for that you will have to contact the train companies according to the country you are in.

    Sweden (SJ trains):

    • If you have a disability, you can order an escort when traveling with SJ or any other train company, without any additional cost.
    • You can get help with escorting to and from the train and at the change of trains. Escorting Available at many stations around Sweden.
    • Book escorting least 24 hours before departure on telephone 0771-75 75 75. To make travel safe and secure, we need to know the dimensions of the wheelchair or rollator and how much it weighs and passengers together. Please have this information ready when you call to book.
    • If you need to cancel the escort, you do so by telephone 0771-75 75 75. Cancel within 12 hours before departure so that we can inform those performing the escort.
    • Narrow your luggage you take with you on board the two smaller parcels, and a maximum of 20 kilos.
    • At train stations with an escort is designated venues. The companion has yellow vest and helps you to train. If the attendant has not come to your appointment, call 0774-44 55 55.
    • When aboard the train the crew will help you to find your location (seats).
    Norway (NSB trains):
    • Space for wheelchairs meets international standards and measures 700 x 1200 millimetres. The wheelchair and occupant together must not weigh more than 250-350 kilos. If these requirements are met, the wheelchair can be secured during the journey and the user will have access to a disabled toilet, ramps and lifts where fitted.
    • The limitations of the wheelchair lifts vary from train type to train type. If the combined weight of the passenger and wheelchair exceed these limitations, the lift will not work. Assistive devices such as rails have a weight limit of 250 kilos and ramps on the stations a limit of 300 kilos. Motorised wheelchairs must also be type-approved as wheelchairs by the Norwegian national reimbursement scheme for assistive devices.
    • The wheelchair must be able to be securely fixed in the designated space. Otherwise, it may move in the event of an unintended incident and block potential escape routes if the train has to be evacuated; it may constitute a safety risk both for the user and for other passengers.

They are easily located localy and could be contacted only in person.
    • Accessibility on Danish trains, buses, ferries and at airports is tailored to meet the needs of disabled visitors. Most ferries have special cabins and wide elevators for disabled passengers. Disabled toilets are provided on trains, as well as lifts and ramps for access on and off the train.

  • Otta

    Otta Station (Norwegian: Otta stasjon) is a railway station located in the town of Otta in Sel, Norway. The station is located on the Dovre Line and served express trains to Oslo and Trondheim. The station was opened in 1896 when the Dovre Line was extended from Tretten Station to Otta.

    The restaurant was taken over by Norsk Spisevognselskap on 1 October 1924. It retained an all-year operation until 30 September 1928, when the restaurant was closed for the winter season. It opened again in May and retained the summer-only service. The operation was later privatized.
